Got a new LCD Flat panel to replace a scondary TV. It's an Syntax Olevia. The TV has a great picture overall. Standard-Definition (SD) TV looks like crud close-up, but from a few feet back (which is the optimal sitting position anyway) looks just as good, or better then most other TV's. DVD's also look great. However, it makes me wish DirecTv HD wasn't so expensive for the equipment!
My only compliant is that blacks levels aren't completely black (for instance dark scenes). But, that is common among LCD TV's and will improve in the future, I'm sure. In fact, I'm just waiting for a 50in LCD that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. If it happens to be made by Syntax Groups, all the better, because based on this 27in model, I'm extremely happy.
